First Impressions

So less than 24 hours since I'm here I've noticed a few things:

• The air really is bad here. There is quite an irritated sensation in my lungs and throat.
• It really sucks being an English-speaking Chinese guy who might speak Mandarin and not knowing a lick of Cantonese.
• People here are pushy for the MTR - they run to the trains only to wait in line (or cut in line depending on how fast they run)
• My firm's IT department doesn't know how to activate international roaming on my Blackberry. Can't blame me if I don't get any work email....
• Cell phone plans are cheap, but figuring out what to get is not easy. Concepts such as "nights and weekend" are completely foreign here.
• It's definitely easier adjusting to the time change going westward than heading east.
