These are funny! Though, in West Hollywood there are lots of speed "humps." I thought it was bizarre when I 1st moved there, too.
use of the word "riser" might be correct here. in high-rise buildings, the term "riser" refers to a vertical shaft that penetrates all floors, which is used to run cabling, utilities, water, etc. throughout the building. for example, there are water risers, telecom risers, etc.
'cuppa tea' is a common expression in the UK, so that may be the inspiration for Starbucks' signage.
You realise most of these are real terms, not Singlish. Naked Flame and Water Riser are the proper terms in English.
And cuppa, well thats def not Singlish, its American English. And it works in this copy quite well.
These photos were posted because they looked strange to an American. They may very well be proper English!
